Well, Dirty finger nails again. Some work done and water pipes and clips replaced. Stop one leak, create more and find another hose that has perished and swollen, add it to the list.
RCR came and did the annual service and filters. One had clogged up again after only 50 hours. May need to keep an eye and check the tank again.
The wind has been very strong and I got up in the night to adjust the fenders which had jammed under the staging when the water levels rose and were pulling us to one side and twanging and screaming.
The BW licence is due and we don't have enough saved up for it yet, ouch. We will need to tighten our belts somewhat and try for extra hours work to bolster the funds.

IWA'S NARROW BOAT JUBILEE TOURS THE WATERWAYS
As part of the Inland Waterways Association's 2006 Diamond Jubilee celebrations, IWA's own narrow boat Jubilee is to undertake a continuous voyage to most parts of the connected inland waterway system, and to as many non-connected waterways as it is safe and viable to visit.
The voyage to be known as 'Jubilee's Jubilee Journey' is to start from IWA's National Festival and Boat Show at Preston Brook at the end of August 2005. Jubilee will then continuously cruise for a year up until the 'Diamond Jubilee National' festival in August 2006.
As well as celebrating important milestones in the Association's eventful history, the aim of the journey is also to link IWA's many branches throughout England and Wales in a campaign for year round access and better maintenance for all the nation's waterways.
Each branch will use Jubilee in different ways as the boat passes through its area, although three consistent themes will link the activities, and run throughout the voyage. Firstly the journey will be a celebration of sixty years of IWA achievements and Jubilee will travel on many waterways that, but for the campaigns and actions of early IWA members, would not be open today. Without the efforts of those early pioneers it is unlikely, that there would be a comprehensive inland waterways network on which to carry out such a journey; and that is a cause for celebration in itself.
However, the Association recognises that maintenance standards and access arrangements in many areas still leave a lot to be desired, and the second aim of the journey will be to highlight these present day shortcomings. The third theme of the jubilee journey will be to make Jubilee a catalyst for much of the Association's next sixty years of campaigning; and in this role she will visit and show support for many existing and potential restoration and enhancement projects.

1946. Throughout her journey we hope to stir as many different people's interests as possible and have some fun along the way.
Jubilee was built by Pat Buckle in 1996 as a promotional vessel for The Inland Waterways Association to celebrate the 50th. anniversary since being formed in 1946.
Originally Ownerships Ltd provided the hull. The arrangement was that she would be handed back to ownerships at the end of the year. However that plan changed and the IWA purchased the hull, with running costs sponsored by ownerships.
I am trying to find out which events she attended from 1996 to 2006.
In 2006 many people took her around Britain on a lengthy J3 Jubilee’s Jubilee Journey to celebrate the diamond anniversary.The majority of 36 local branches of the IWA's 11 regions contributed to the project.Jubilee visited most parts of the connected inland waterway network and some of the non connected waterways as well, even becoming the first narrowboat to Swindon for 100 years! I have been given a log book and many photos of events in the year. The journey linked the 2005 National Festival at Preston-Brook with the Diamond Jubilee National in August 2006 on the river Thames at Beale Park near Reading. She covered more than 2000 miles, passed more than 1200 locks, more than 250 members of IWA contributed to the project. As a result of each region taking responsibility for differing journey’s and promotions Jubilee has her own groupies. We can moor up and tow path walkers tell us stories of their experiences.
At the end of 2006 we purchased her and now enjoy hours of peaceful cruising. Very slowly as funds become available we have dry docked her for blacking and de-rusting. River Canal Rescue look after her mechanical oily bits. She is still very much as she was. Water Pumps have failed and been replaced as have the taps. We now have an Epping Stove for warmth and piping and radiators to install.
